Run-for-Research

Date: Sunday, June 9th
Time: 6:30 am (MT); gathering outside Folsom Field to run on Boulder Creek Path (yellow dot on the map below).
Location: Boulder Creek Path
Cost Per Person: $25/registration; $25/t-shirt

The run was named after Dr. Gordon L. Kirkland, a prominent mammalogist who made many contributions to this field and to the Society. One of Dr. Kirkland’s accomplishments included being the founder of the Shippensburg University Vertebrate Museum. Dr. Kirkland’s goal for the museum was to help provide research for faculty, graduate and undergraduate students. In 1998, shortly before Dr. Kirkland passed away, he received the Hartley H.T. Jackson Award for his long and outstanding service to the Society. Because of Dr. Kirkland’s goals, all proceeds from the run go to the Future Mammalogists Fund, which gives Grants-in-Aid for student research. The Run-For-Research is hosted by the ASM Development Committee.
